Description:

Breath of Gaia presents an aerial view of the coastal marsh at Huntington State Park in Murrells Inlet, South Carolina. From above, the landscape reveals itself not as scenery, but as a living system. The winding waterways functions like lungs, breathing life through the march, while the rigid geometry of the boardwalk cuts across the frame - an unmistakable marker of human presence.

The piece explores the fragile equilibrium between the natural world and the structures imposed upon it. From this elevated perspective, the boundaries become graphic and intentional, transforming the landscape into a study of rhythm, flow, and restraint. What appears serene at first glance carries an underlying tension: a reminder that nature's systems endure, but never without consequence.

This work invites the viewer to step outside the familiar ground-level experience and reconsider the coast as an interconnected organism - one that sustains life quietly persistently, and often unnoticed.
